With API key (recommended): Your photo is sent to Google Cloud Vision which uses AI to read text from curved, reflective, and small-print labels with high accuracy. The image is processed and immediately discarded β Google does not store it.
Without API key: Uses Tesseract.js (runs locally in your browser). Works OK for flat, well-lit, clear text but struggles with real product labels that are curved, glossy, or small-print.
